Are we setting CIOs and IT groups up for failure by asking too much, or assuming they cannot adapt to deliver what the organization needs?
Denial and lack of alternatives drive people outside IT for solutions. The consumerization of IT is just another name for Shadow IT.
CIOs and IT pros face a choice: keep the lights on or drive new technology initiatives. The role is changing, and now is the time to step up.
