I’ve been working with machine learning and data science techniques for over 10 years with experience in both academic research  (earning a Doctor of Science in Information Systems) and industry practice (designing and developing machine learning systems).  During this time, I’ve built machine learning systems for classification (including natural language processing for sentiment analysis) as well as for regression.  A few examples of projects I’ve worked on (you can find more detailed information about my background here):

The topic of my doctoral research revolves around sentiment analysis of social media messages on Twitter and the application of that sentiment in the financial markets. My  doctoral dissertation title is: “Analysis of Twitter Messages for Sentiment and Insight for use in Stock Market Decision Making”

In addition to my technical knowledge in the area of machine learning and data science,  I also have 9 years of experience working with Intellectual Property and Patent attorneys and understand the needs of this specialized field and the requirements placed on an expert witness.
