Foto Friday – Grand Canyon Sunset

Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona. Copyright 2019 Eric D. Brown.
This was the night before my first photography workshop at the Grand Canyon. The conference hadn’t started yet, so I went out solo to catch the sunset and found a spot along the north rim with a clear view west, set up, and waited.
The sun broke through a gap in the storm clouds that had moved in, throwing warm light across the red rock faces while the canyon layers went blue and hazy in the distance. Juniper trees on the left edge. If you look down into the canyon, you can just make out the Colorado River.
Good timing, a bit of luck and a nice little show.
