Hi Bill - Thanks for stopping by and for the comments. Twitter takes some time to really grasp the power of this tool. I'd recommend you re-look at it....and yes...it all depends on who you follow on Twitter. If you follow a bunch of people that don't tweet, you won't get much benefit from it.

I get Linkedin. It keeps me in touch with, mainly, colleagues, customers and business partners. It's like a contact book on steriods. Plaxo is useful for the same reason. I get Facebook. It keeps me in touch with people socially.

I don't really get Twitter. It's main purpose seems to be to ensure I can't focus properly on my work. Your mileage may differ. I don't get anything back from it. Perhaps I've been following the wrong people.

We sometimes feel a little left out, what with all the talk surrounding social media.

But we also sometimes wonder how presumably busy professionals can devote a lot of their time to these.

Hi Susan - Thanks for stopping by!

So true...using Social Media or any other tool properly is key. In order to use the tool properly, you've got to think through why you are using it.

Thanks again!

Social media is a tool, that is true. Success comes from effort and learning to use the tools effectively

Hey Alexsandar - I do agree with you...if used effectively, Social Media can be an amazing resource and tool.

I don't think social media is the "answer" to all our problems. But, it is effective if used properly. I wouldn't count-out social media. Be aware of trends though. The next big thing is going to be mobile content (if it's not already big).

Thanks for the comment.

Looks like you are approaching Social Media in the way that is best for you...slow and methodologically. So many times people jump into things without thinking it through, which causes their social media experiments to fail.
