Consulting

As my blog title states “Aligning Technology, Strategy, People & Projects” has been the focus of my career. I’ve always found myself at the intersection of business and technology and have loved it. For the majority of my career I’ve found myself working within information technology and telecommunication fields with a focus on managing software development, implementation, training, technical support and development of documentation.

My main areas of focus are:

I’m an accomplished Technology Executive, Consultant and Manager with extensive experience leading large cross-functional teams. I’m a hands-on leader with experience managing large geographically dispersed teams in project management, software development, information technology, consulting services, and implementation. Engaging leader responsible for managing groups with profit and loss responsibility up to $20 million.

As a consultant (and person) I have three over-arching goals:

  1. Build long-term relationships
  2. Deliver results
  3. Continue to learn

What’s different about me?

I focus on results not billable hours. This is a different approach than most consulting companies….but of course, I’m not like any consulting firm out there. So what do you get when you hire me? Easy…you get a partner who cares more about your and your results than billing you hours.

Here’s what I bring to the table:

Real World Experience
I have over fifteen years of experience in corporate and consulting environments…with most of my experience coming from the corporate world. I’ve been where you are today and can bring that real world experience to your organization.

Technical and Business Acumen
Whether you need assistance with developing a strategic plan, help with selecting the proper technology, implementing a new technology, developing software or outsourcing your operations, I can help. I’ve assisted organizations that range in size from 100 to 50,000 people and have experience in many types of technologies from many vendors.

Passion
You might think that this is a strange one to include here…but I feel that it’s a vital piece of what I bring (call it a piece of my competitive advantage). I’m passionate about what I do…and I’m passionate about helping other people.

Budgetary Certainty
My standard fee structure is a fixed fee plus performance bonus or hold-back. I feel that this approach frees me up to focus on results rather than billable hours. This approach also allows my clients to budget appropriately and have more control over project costs.

Value Promise
I believe so strongly in the value that I bring to my clients that I add a ‘Value Adjustment’ to every invoice. This gives my client’s the ability to adjust each and every invoice to match the level of value that I’ve provided. To date, I’ve never had a client lower an invoice although I’ve had 2 raise the invoice amount!

I'm an amateur photographer. I've got some pictures posted for your viewing pleasure. I shoot a Canon 40D with the 28-135mm Kit lens. Am patiently waiting my Canon EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM lens...when I get it, you'll know :) Enjoy...and be kind to my almost good pictures :)

Unlike me, my wife Tracie is a great photographer. You can see her work at a moment to keep photography. Give her a call if you need/want some photography work done...she's open to traveling to you too (expenses paid of course). :)

Tracie shoots a Canon 5D with a few different lenses for various occassions (Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM, Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM and Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM).
